Kevin & Katy have been operating Kodiak Wilderness Adventures since 1991.
Before becoming a guide, I spent many years as a commercial fisherman. My knowledge of the water and the fish residing in it is ever increasing as a fishing guide, and I have had the pleasure of picking up more than a few tricks from many of the sportsmen that I’ve spent countless hours with stream side and aboard the boat. As a registered guide, licensed by the State of Alaska to guide big game hunters into the field, I have hunted several regions of this huge land and my preference is to hunt and fish on Kodiak and the surrounding Islands.
Katy is my perfect companion and without her, Kodiak Wilderness Adventures would not be much of an adventure. She is the quintessential hostess and a master at seeing to the comforts of her guests. She enjoys sharing recipes and serving requested dishes to returning visitors. Her attention to the details that make each of our guests feel right at home and her extraordinary meals are skills that cannot be taught! Katy is the glue that holds Kodiak Wilderness Adventures together! While our guests are enjoying the water or in the field, she is certain to be back at the lodge preparing for their return and taking care of the logistics that are involved with accommodating the folks that travel the great distances to our lodge.
We were blessed with a daughter ( Amy Lorese) in 1994 and have raised her in the lodging industry. Amy contributes to the family business through her skills as a flourishing cook specializing in the art of baking. She is responsible for many of the desserts that put the finishing touch on the dinner meal. As our resident photographer, Amy has the unique perspective of having spent her entire life on this beautiful island, capturing images and sharing them with others.
Our motto,”safety first”, combines a focused attitude towards having a great time catching fish and filling tags, while providing our hunting and fishing guests with a safe, professional and memorable adventure.
